At Alberta Transportation: Mitch Fuhr is the new Executive Director of Driver Programs. Kim Durdle, formerly of the Carrier Services Division, succeeds Alvin Moroz as Director, Transport Engineering, based out of the Red Deer Office. The new Director of the Driver Programs and Licensing Standards Section is Lorraine Card, who comes to Alberta Transportation from Greyhound Canada and has been an associate member of CCMTA. Martin Jackson, the Interprovincial Record Exchange (IRE) System Manager, will retire from the CCMTA Secretariat on March 31. At IRE’s inception in 1987, Martin was contracted by CCMTA as a technical consultant to oversee the connectivity of the jurisdictions’ motor vehicle systems to a national data exchange network. In the ensuing years, he has managed the technical and strategic direction for IRE that has included driver, vehicle and carrier data exchange in Canada, connectivity with the U.S. and IRE access by third parties. CCMTA wishes Martin all the best in his retirement!
