North American Cargo Securement Harmonization Public Forum

North American Cargo Securement Harmonization Public Forum

November 3, 2026 | Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

The Fall 2026 North American Cargo Securement Harmonization Public Forum will be held in-person on November 3, 2026, at the Rogers Centre Ottawa, in Ottawa, Canada.

This public forum is an unrestricted event open to all interested parties to voice issues/concerns with cargo securement regulations in pursuit of developing and implementing uniform regulatory requirements for the securement of cargo on or within commercial motor vehicles throughout North America.

The North American Cargo Securement Harmonization Public Forum serves to continue efforts begun by the Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA) in 1993 when it approved funding and management for research designed to update and improve cargo securement standards. Subsequently, CCMTA’s initial research and standards were completed and the effort was expanded with support from the United States in an interest in harmonizing a North American standard.

Today, on an ongoing basis, Canadian and U.S. regulators and other constituents continue effort through this forum to identify and, where appropriate, address cargo securement issues for potential implementation in an internationally harmonized standard. The forum is open to the industry, law enforcement and all interested parties.

If you have any questions, contact CVSA Director of Inspection Programs Kerri Wirachowsky at 202-998-1650 or kerri.wirachowsky@cvsa.org.
